Program1 Kids/Family Zen Experience

Your children can learn and experience Zen culture through activities such as traditional crafts, games, and Japanese flower arrangement* at a 300-year-old Zen temple. If you are lucky, you can get guidance for a monk apprentice from a real monk. We will cook and have Japanese traditional lunch such as Onigiri (rice balls) together. You can learn and experience about “mottainai” spirit and Buddhist idea of gratitude through having food. And as a bonus, you can strike the big bell in the temple. Your children will be experienced being young, smart monks!

Especially designed for children ages from 6 to 17, but parents can also enjoy. (Siblings under 6 can attend with the same fee)

-Minimum participants are two including at least one child ages 6 to 17.
-In case of participants has any food allergy, please bring lunch by yourself for the safety purpose.
-For traditional flower arrangement, 2 days in advance reservation is necessary to procure material.
